Since today we spent in school, I'll just continue with telling about Berlin. So Monday we left at about ten in the morning. We got to Berlin at about five, walked to teh hotel, went to dinner then got to wander around the area until ten. The place we ate at was the German version of a buffet, you pay then get your food, but don't get to go back for secconds. There was this strawberry cake thing that was just amazing......I wonder if I can find the recipe........
The second day we went to the Brandenberg Gate, the famous crossing between east and west Berlin, we also visited Checkpoint Charlie, another famous crossing point.
From the top of the German Parliment buildiong the view was incredible, and there was this really cool piramid thing that was made out of mirrors.. The arcatecture was really cool. the piramid thing was housed in a glass dome that you can go to the top of and see the entire city, one of the guys is making a panoramic from the pictures that he took from up there. cool:)
The Neues Palais (New Palace) was incredible. It might actually have been my favorate part of Berlin. It was built in the baroque style, really cool style. There was this hall that was called the grotto, it had seashells decorating it. wemade into all sorts of really amazing shapes, sea serpants, flowers, and more, it was just so amazing. I would post pictures of it, but it was forbiden to take pictures so I just have memories........*sigh*
the school that we visited was............different. it went throught the 10th grade but the average graduation age was 17/18......I just heard thunder again........for the past three days it has rained at least once, which was coll the first few times, now it is a little anoying, especially when our plans have to be changed/cancled. so back to the school......the 8th grade class that we visited had people who were 15 in it. for me that was way strange.
I have discovered this amazing type of tea, strawberry rehebarb. I don't normally like fruit teas, but this one is amazingly good, I love it. *mutters under breath* Bloody german keyboards, wrong place for the y key......
So the mesuems were kinda mostly closed, except for one that we got to spend a 1/2 hour in. We spent 1 hour in all the others, and finished in about twenty minutes. The one that we spent 1/2 hour in was really cool, it was filled with carvings and cool art, mostly of the really old era.
SO this is it for toady (at least right now....) so Tschüss
